You, Enoch

i envy you, Enoch, for your footsteps
filled by the Lord
He passed His hours with you
deep in thought and understanding
in rest and with the brightest light of radiance
my mind could hope to conjure.

i envy you, Enoch, you were able to speak
to converse with the Creator
creature to Master, face to face
with the moonlight of His stride
lighting your way.

i envy you, Enoch, for you are already there
no grave portal to pass through
no fear of death, no cancer
or heart disease, or loneliness;
not feeble—strong to the end.
