Preparing the Heart
Genesis 39-40
Entrusted with everything in the house,
I'm given a great responsibility.
But when I'm tempted by my master's spouse,
Her seduction leads to hostility.
How could I commit sin against the Lord,
The One who has gifted me with great dreams?
I do not know what the future has stored,
But all Potipher hears are his wife's screams.
Cast into prison without a defense,
I wonder how this fits into God's plan.
Cellmates want to know if their dreams make sense
I'm homesick to rejoin my father's clan
But the Lord proves faithful throughout the years
He prepares my heart as the famine nears.
